Message: THE PAINFUL GLORIOUS PATH TO RESURRECTION
Ministering: Pastor Dr. Raf Otono
Date: 9th April 2023
Today, all over the world we are celebrating resurrection Sunday and the glorious life of Jesus Christ, but how can we really celebrate His life if we don’t truly know what He did and what He suffered for our sake.
There is an old saying, that when a purpose of a thing is unknown abuse is inevitable. So, in the world today as we are celebrating the glorious resurrection of our Lord and savior, they are celebrating Easter. The word easter comes from Eostre or Eostrae – the goddess of spring and fertility – that’s why one of the things you see the world use as a symbol during this period is egg, bunny, rabbits (It is a symbol of the goddess of fertility).
WE ARE NOT GATHERED HERE TODAY TO CELEBRATE EASTER BUT TO CELEBRATE THE RESURRECTION AND LIFE OF JESUS!
But before we do that, I want to take us on a sober trip to understand the ultimate price Jesus paid for us with His blood. The greatest celebration you can give Him is to repent and live your life for Him so that His sacrifice won’t be in vain.
You see, after the fall of man God had a plan and tried to redeem mankind but couldn’t until Jesus paid the price with His life. – 2 Cor 5:21
Lev 16:3-22 – (v9-10) Dead goat – Christ’s Death – Scape goat alive – resurrected
The 2 goats are a typology of Jesus’s death and resurrection. One could not have done it because being killed would make it impossible for an animal to represent the resurrection as when the scape goat was taken into the wilderness. If Christ had died and remained dead His atoning work would have been in vain, it was the resurrection that made it valid and effective. Rom 4:25
We just saw that the priest sprinkled the blood of the sacrificial lamb 7x (which we have established was Christ) to atone for the sins of the people, right? Now Guess what?
Jesus also shed his blood for us 7x before resurrection, and for each time He did, it was for a significant purpose.
- AT THE GETHSAMANE – Luke 22:44
WHY? – He bled on the ground
- To heal our ground that was cursed in Genesis 3:17-19
He converted His Sweat to His blood to reverse the curse so that man doesn’t need to sweat anymore for the ground to yield her increase to him
- AT THE HOUSE OF CAIAPHAS – Matt 26:67-68 – Isa 50:6
WHY?
- He bled from His face so the ours will be glorified like His
- He bled from His face so that we may look like Him, so that when God looks at us He doesn’t see us but Jesus. Hallelujah!
- AT HIS BACK/BODY – (THE ROMAN SCOURGE/FLAGRUM) – Matt 27:26 – Isa 52:14 KJV/NLT
WHY? He bled on his back and body
- To take away our shame and sickness – Isa 53:5
- A lot of preachers have said Jesus took 40 strokes backed by Deut 25:1-3
- Some said 39 strokes because of what Paul said in 2 Cor 11:24
- But we must understand these were Jewish laws and it wasn’t the Jews that crucified Jesus, it was the Romans and they had no business with Jewish laws!
- PRAETORIUM – Open Judgement Hall – Matt 27:27-31 (THE CROWN OF THORNS)
WHY? He bled on His head
- To heal and renew our mind so that we can have the mindset of Christ – Phil 2:5
- To give us a crown of victory at the end
- THE NAILING OF HIS HANDS – Psalm 22:16-18 – Matt 27:35-37
WHY? He bled in His hands
- So that the work of our hands might be accepted and prosper
- THE NAILING OF HIS FEET – Psalm 22:16-18 – Ps 119:105
WHY? He bled on His feet
- So that our walk with God might be right
- So that God can be a light to our path for direction
- THE PIERCING ON HIS SIDE – John 19:31-34
WHY?
- Just as the 1st Adam was put to sleep and his bride (Eve) was taken from his side, so Christ, the 2nd Adam had to die, so that His bride (the Church) be taken from His side
So, the blood of Jesus was shed
@ Gethsemane – To heal our cursed ground
@ Caiaphas house – To transform our faces
@ His back/body – To heal our disease and take away our shame
@ His head – To heal and renew our mind
@ His hands – To bless and prosper our work
@ His feet – To direct our path and destiny
@ His side – To make us whole as a church
Now we must understand that the blood shed is not an ordinary blood and still lives! Because it didn’t come from any man but the Holy Spirit!
An archeologist by the name of Ron Wyatt discovered the ARK OF THE COVENANT 20 feet below where Christ was crucified and when he found it; he discovered there was this dark substance on it and when they examined it they discovered it was DRY BLOOD! And he took it to the lab for further examination and they discovered it has only 24 CHROMOSOMES!
They were astonished because naturally every human is supposed to have 46 CHROMOSOMES; 23 from the mother and 23 from the father but this particular one had 24-
23 X CHROMOSOMES from the MOTHER
1 Y CHROMOSOME that determined the MALE GENDER of THE CHILD, but when they examined the Y CHROMOSOME it WAS NOT FROM A HUMAN MALE!
Now apart from these striking discoveries – WHAT BLEW THE MINDS OF THE SCIENTISTS was that the BLOOD WAS DRY when they brought it in and everyone knows that DRY BLOOD IS DEAD BLOOD but when they tested this blood – IT WAS ALIVE! So they got confused and asked Ron Wyatt – WHOSE BLOOD IS THIS?
And he said crying- IT IS YOUR MESSIAH’S – IF THE CRUSIFIED BLOOD OF JESUS IS ALIVE THAT MEANS HE IS ALSO ALIVE! HALLELLUJAH!
Finally, I want to leave you with this today – On the cross Jesus made 7 profound statements
- Father, forgive them for they know not what they are doing – Luke 23: 34 (As we remember His sacrifice today, God is saying forgive!)
- Shalt thou be with me in paradise – Luke 23:43 (Be Heaven conscious today!)
- Woman, behold thy son – John 19:26-27 (Reconcile & honor your parents today)
- My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me? Matt 27:47 (Be comforted that He will never leave nor forsake you)
- I thirst – John 19:28 (Don’t let your thirst for God die, ignite it today!)
- It is finished – John 19:30 (Every struggle in your is finished today!)
- Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit – Luke 23:46 (Commit your life and ways to the father today!)
SOMEBODY SHOUT JESUS IS ALIVE!!!!!!!!
Prayer: Lord Jesus, today I thank You for sacrificing Your life for me!
– ALTAR CALL!!
