THE WIND OF THE SPIRIT – Joel 2:28, Acts 2:1-4

This is our year of Diverse Spiritual Manifestations.
For there to be diverse spiritual manifestations – there must first be baptism of the spirit – and for there to be baptism of the spirit – there must be deep thirst and hunger for it.
Luke 5:1 – And the people PRESSED upon him to hear the word of God
- They pressed because they were hungry for God
- They pressed because they needed revival
- They pressed because they needed God like oxygen
- These were not lukewarm people there were people hungry for God!
Why? – Ezekiel 2:2 – And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me
Why? John 6:63 – The words that I speak to you are spirit and they are life
Heb 4:12 – The word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intent of the heart.
Ps 107:20, Ps 119:105,130, Isa 40:8, Jer 23:29
Ps 119:89 – Forever o Lord thy word is settled in heaven!
For there to be diverse spiritual manifestations – there must be deep hunger for it!
Joel 2:28 – And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh! Question: AFTER WHAT?
Listen, Joel 2:28 manifested in Acts 2 after men waited in the place of consecration, unity and prayer!
Pentecost simply means 50 – so for 50 days they tarried in the place of prayer crying to see the move of the spirit! (Acts 2:2 – where they were sitting) they prayed until they were tired of standing and sat down but didn’t stop praying! WHY? – Luke 24:49 – Tarry ye in Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. This is how revivals are born!
Revival is born from continuous conscious prayer and hunger for God (Let Your will be done on earth)
Revival is when the awareness and consciousness of the presence of God overshadows a place, community or nation!
A revival took place in Acts 2 but watch this!
Until the wind blew, the fire did not fall!
Listen: The wind of the spirit precedes the fire of the spirit – God is a God of order and will always be – Gen 1:1-3 (The wind came before light) – 2 Sam 22:10-14
Many of us have been asking God for the Fire but He is like no that is an upside-down arrangement
I won’t pour my spirit and fire inside a contaminated container- let my wind blow out all the garbage! The fire is not for that – the fire is to sanctify and set your spirit man on fire!
So, the wind clears up the mess of the vessel for the fire to refine, purify and set ablaze for the world to see!
ASSIGNMENTS OF THE WIND!
- It clears out the garbage, stubbles to set the vessel ready for the master’s use – Job 21:18, 18:42, 83:13
Prayer: Father, by the wind of the spirit – search me and clear out everything that is not of you, clear out envy, unforgiveness, pride, self-righteousness in the name of Jesus
Wind of the spirit, blow in this church and take out every spirit of lukewarmness and prayerlessness in the name of Jesus
- It blows out the spices of His presence & power in order to bring in the harvest – Acts 2:6, Songs of Sol 4:16
Prayer: Wind of the spirit blow out the spices, the presence and power of God from VGC and bring a great harvest into Your kingdom in the name of Jesus
- It brings restoration of life and spirituality – Eze 37:8-12, John 20:21-22
Prayer: I prophesy – By the wind of the spirit, I recover whatsoever is lost in my life, my destiny, my ministry and family in the name of Jesus
Listen: Only commanded word turns people to commanders. Every church starts as a valley of dry bones, it is the prophesying of the saints and the wind of the spirit that turns them into a great army. The future is in our mouth!
Vs 12- I prophesy – every satanic grave where my glory, my ministry, my destiny, my children and finances has been buried – by the wind of the spirit be opened now in the name of Jesus!
- It brings the fire and sets the stage right for the baptism of the spirit
There is a difference between a measure of the spirit, to be filled and baptism of the spirit – John 3:34, Acts 10:38 (Illustrate with a glass, bottle & bowl of water)
At Pentecost they were both filled and baptized! And kept refilling to replenish the spirit and power they had received! Act 4:8,31
Prayer: By the wind of the spirit – Holy Ghost baptize me and fill me up with Your fire, power and anointing in the name of Jesus
