Message: WHAT ARE YOU HIDING?
Text: – Jeremiah 16:17

In the beginning the Bible said Adam and Eve were both naked and not ashamed! – Gen 2:25
Listen: Where there is no sin there is no shame!
Where there is nothing to hide, there is no shame to cover! Where there are no skeletons, there are no need for hidden cupboards!
Most times what we are hiding is what satan uses as a tool to make us feel unworthy before God!
WHAT ARE YOU HIDING?
A lot of us are carrying stuffs around hiding it from ourselves, hiding it from the world because we feel if they know or see it, it will make us look like fake Christians or sinners! Guess what? The real sin is in hiding it – you hiding it is what makes it a sin!
Sin thrives in secrecy!
As long as Adam & Eve were naked and opened before God, they weren’t ashamed because they had nothing to hide! But watch this: That was the last time the Bible recorded that they were not ashamed! The next chapter (Genesis 3) something happened in verse 7-11
In verse 7 – They were still naked but now ashamed! Why? They have sinned! And tried to cover their nakedness!
Sin fills us with shame, and it is this shame that drives us to hide from God and from each other. We are no longer comfortable with anyone seeing our nakedness, for we know that we are filthy.
Listen: A sinful heart is not something that desires itself to be exposed to anyone; it would rather hide and remain in darkness.
In verse 8 – They hid from LIGHT (GOD) and that’s exactly where satan wants them to be! But unfortunately, you can’t hide from God!
This was where they missed it!
IF THEY HAD NOT COVERED THEIR NAKEDNESS AND HIDDEN FROM GOD, BUT CRIED OUT FOR HELP MAYBE THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN SAVED. THEY DIDN’T – THAT MEANS THEIR HEARTS WAS NOT REMORSEFUL & REPENTANT.
- THE COVER: IT WAS A STATEMENT TO GOD THAT HIS CREATION WASN’T GOOD ENOUGH & THAT THEY WERE EXPOSED & UNCOVERED
- THE HIDING: THEY TRIED TO HIDE THEIR SIN FROM GOD INSTEAD OF CONFESSING AND EXPOSING IT – Eph 5:11-13 AMP
Many people are hiding from God today because of their past sins and deeds but God is calling us today – WHERE ARE YOU?
In verse 10-11 – God asked a profound question- Who told you that you are naked? And He is asking today:
Who told you that you are sinner?
Who told you that you are a barren?
Who told you God is angry with you?
Who told you that abortion is the reason you are suffering today?
WHO TOLD YOU? Satan did, and he is the father of all liars!
WHAT ARE YOU HIDING?
Hair covered with wig that refused to grow as a woman?
Scared face covered with make up
Pornography?
Masturbation?
Addiction?
Alcohol?
Illiteracy?
Tattoos covered in clothes (Why hide it? Tradition & culture) – Mark 7:13
If you don’t reveal what you are hiding, satan will use it against you because he dwells and operates in secrecy.
Listen: You are good just as you are and God loves you just as you are.
He saw that which you are hiding before He sent His son to die for you, He saw that which you are hiding before He called you. We live in a generation where everyone is acting.
Anything you are hiding becomes the sin satan holds and uses against you. – Zech 3:1-4
Do not let your sin find you out – Num 32:23
Whatever you are hiding, expose it today and be free & delivered so that God can cover you by Himself! You can’t hide and cover yourself by yourself! – Gen 3:21
Enough of the lies & secrets
Enough of the hypocrisy
Enough of the pretense and show
Enough of religion and customs
IT IS TIME FOR REAL CHRISTIANITY!
IT IS TIME TO SERVE GOD IN TRUTH AND IN SPIRIT!
